According to the Government of J&K: 
1.In UT of J&K till date 2615 no. of travellers and persons in contact with 
suspected cases have been put under surveillance, 2060 in Home Quarantine, 28 in Hospital Quarantine, 297 in Home surveillance, 230 completed their 28 days surveillance period. 113 samples have been sent for testing, 105 negative,03 (Three) tested positive, 05 reports awaited (17 March, 2020; 3:00 PM). 
2. J&K Epidemic Disease (COVID-19) Regulations, 2020 have been extended to whole of J&K under the orders of Shri Girish Chandra Murmu, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir; thereby defining powers, duties & responsibilities to the Surveillance, Personnel Duties & Responsibilites of Medical Officers & Practitioners, Enforcement & Offences. 
3. Public is urged to maintain Social distancing as it is the Key to stop and prevent the spread of Covid-19 from those who are infected to those who are not infected. The intervention includes remaining out of crowded settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible. 
4. There is no need to panic, take care of your health and protect others. Public in general is therefore advised to avoid un-necessary travel & use of public transport; avoid crowded places and large gatherings, do not spit in public. 
People must take basic precautions for personal hygiene; frequent hand washing with soap & water; and observing coughing & sneezing etiquettes. If anyone has fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, seek medical care at the earliest. 
5. Public is advised to strictly follow the advisories issued by the Govt. from time to time. 
6. People are urged to rely only on the information released by the government in this regard through the daily media bulletin to print & electronic media.
